This group is specifically for couples and individuals who are considering adoption, in the process of adopting, or recently adopted a baby domestically. My husband and I adopted our first child five years ago, and we are now in the process of adopting our second baby. There's so much I learned the first time around and realized that there's a need to be able to meet with other parents who are going through the adoption process. No matter what stage in the process you're at, this group will be a …

This group was started in 2006 by a mom and dad with two adopted kids of a different race and two biological kids. The purpose of the group is to meet and connect ourselves and our children with families that are similar to our own. We have grown to 30+ plus families in the Montclair, New Jersey (and surrounding) area. We are all connected by adoption; many through DYFS, some domestically and some internationally. We are a welcoming and inclusive group open to all adoptive multiracial families.

Every rescued dog is a success story, and this group can be a place to share your dog's own story while meeting other people who have made the same commitment to saving an animal from a shelter, the streets, or any other bad situation. Join us for a casual leashed walk around Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Since many people are kind enough to adopt dogs with behavioral issues, this isn't a playgroup, but rather a low-key pack walk. Our walks generally last 1.5 hours, and may involve some hills and/o …

I have been asked by the Home For Good Dogs Staff, not to post any more regular events as they are already on their web site; http://homeforgooddog... and their facebook page; http://www.facebook.c... It is too difficult to keep them all up to date with the changes that happen! Please visit these sites, join and help out. I will keep this site up so people can find us and be directed to those pages. I will still post major events only. Home for Good is a volunteer-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit …

In profiling Chinese adoptees in contemporary America, Linda Goldstein Knowlton's (THE WORLD ACCORDING TO SESAME STREET) deeply moving documentary illustrates that even the most specific of experiences can be universally relatable. Of the roughly 80,000 girls who have been adopted from China since 1989—a decade after China implemented its One Child Policy—the film intimately follows four teenagers: Haley, Jenna, Ann, and Fang. These four wise-beyond-their-years, yet typical American teens, revea …

Greyhound Meetup There are so few organized social groups for rescued greyhounds and their owners in NJ. That is why I wanted to start this group. Greyhounds can socialize with each other in relaxed environments such as beaches, parks, or other appropriate venues. I think rescued greyhounds should interact with other greyhounds as often as possible. I take my greyhound out to beaches and parks often, but I rarely see other greyhounds in the parks and on the beaches. Let's help our pets make new …

This is a group for anyone that is an owner of a retired racing greyhound or two, three ......or four. I'd love for my newly adopted greyhound, TK, to have an opportunity to meet other greyhounds. Cairn Terrier Lovers unite! I see you on the streets but never in the dog park. I was inspired to start this group when I noticed that my Cairn Terrier, Frankie, seemed to love playing with other Cairns more than non-cairns. Don't get me wrong, he loves playing with them too, but his ferocious play growl is often misunderstood by less ferocious players. If you are a Cairn person, or just love them, please join and play like you mean it!
